A solo show written and performed by Liz Allen, Tonight I Am My Mother is a dark comedic character piece centering on the complex mother/daughter dynamic between Liz and her southern country club mother who grappled with booze, memories, and her husband's dating life. Having grown up in North Carolina and moved away, Liz and her siblings return home as adults and attempt to confront their mother and shed light on a problem hiding in a punch bowl of bourbon. Unexpected revelations ensue, and Liz reassesses her role in the family, Oprah’s teachings, and her relationship with her mother. No foul language, but mature themes abound.

"I laughed, I cried, I cheered.
Liz is an extremely talented lady.
"
